Hey folks, come out and join us at the incredible 535 Library Lounge at Firefly Restaurant in Edgewater Shopping Center. The show is Friday January 22nd and starts at 8pm. It’s a free show and is in an incredible place. So get a date, clean up a bit, and be prepared to have a great time with some great people. Tell your friends and come support local music. It’s going to be a great time. You can get more info on our facebook page by clicking the facebook link at the top of the page. See you there!
Well, it’s 2010 and The Carolinas have had a heck of a year. We released our first full length album, played some amazing shows, and are already working on songs for an E.P. that will release this spring, a short film documentary, a music video, and a new full length album. We look forward to what 2010 is going to bring. But we didn’t get here without a lot of help and support.
Our label, Branch Records, has been very good to us and is home to lots of great artists. You should check out our little family of artists and purchase some of their music as well. They are all great friends and people that we believe in. BRANCH RECORDS
We also are thankful to some very great companies who have either given us gear or have given it to us for next to nothing so that we could do what we do. We don’t endorse this gear because it’s cheap or free. We endorse it because these are small companies that like us are trying to share something and create a family of people who believe in something special. Please check out these companies and feel free to email us with any questions about any gear. Special Thanks to… ROAD RAGE PRO GEAR (pedal boards, bypass loopers, and more) GEORGE L’S CABLES (cables, strings, and more) EMPRESS EFFECTS (delay, tremolo, and eq pedals) TELENORDIA (effects pedals) C & C CUSTOM DRUMS (drums and hardware)
Most of all thanks to you all who read this blog, enjoy our music, and come to our shows. As songwriters we are simply trying to share something with other human beings in the small shot that something will connect and we’ll help each other as we walk through life together. You guys have encouraged us, challenged us, and made us better artists through your love and support. We will continue to do what we do as long as you care to listen. We hope that you continue to connect with the rough edges of life, the questions, the hope, and the struggles that are riddled in our songs and hearts.
This has been a great year and we look forward to making more music and sharing it with all of you. We are very thankful to have survived a very wonderfully tumultuous 2009. Keep supporting great artists, keep listening to music, and keep in touch. Here’s to a great 2010…
cheers,
The Carolinas

Well folks, the newest edition of Eight5ifty Magazine is hot of the press and we were honored enough to be one of the featured article in the issue. We’ve posted all of the pics from our shoot with Eight5ifty Editor/Photographer Dustin Bryson. Make sure to check out all the links below. We are very thankful to Dustin, Chris, and Foo from Freshink and Injoy for making the shoot super fun and getting some great shots in the process. Also, if you can’t tell we think Woodie Guthrie is cool.
Hey folks, we had a great time rockin’ downtown Panama City at Friday Fest last week. Thanks so much to everyone for coming out especially all of you who emailed us, messaged us, and twittered about the gig. Big thanks to Allan Branch for taking some photos at the show. You can check out the photos on Allan’s photo stream by clicking here:
We are the Carolinas. We make music. Some people call it Alt Country. Some call it white trash rock n’ roll. Any who, here is some of our music. For Free…
Big thanks to everyone who came out to the show on October 2nd in spite of all the other things going on here in Bay County. It was an eventful Friday and we had a great show. Lilywhite and the Cries of played great sets. And we have a few pics from the show you can check out by clicking the link below. Thanks again to everyone who came out. Come check us out at our next show Friday Nov. 6th at First Friday downtown in Panama City.
The Carolinas debut album, Songbook 1: Moonlight or The Ghost was recently reviewed by a great website called MicControl.com. Mic Control seeks to connect, promote, and network artists and their music and has been very supportive of us check out their review of our debut album.
The Carolinas had a great photo shoot with the super talented staff of Fresh Ink Design and Eight5ifty Magazine. The shoot will be featured in the upcoming October edition of Eight5ifty. The picture you see here (as great as it looks) doesn’t even scratch the surface of how cool the shoot was. Woodie Gutherie tributes, smashed guitars, broken A/C units, and 90 degree heat were just some of the things that made this shoot memorable. Check out the Eight5ifty website to connect and make sure to pick up the October edition when it releases to catch more amazing shots from this shoot as well as loads of other cool stuff from around the 850. Don’t miss it!
Hey Carolinas Fans, a couple of months ago we did a radio session for WKGC that will air sometime in October on the radio station. We had a wonderful time and captured some sweet acoustic performances of some Carolinas favorites. We decided to make these free for everyone over at our Bandcamp site. Make sure to check it out and tell a friend. Also, check back to find out when the entire show is airing to hear all the interviews and extras that went on during the session.
Last night we played a fun in store in Dothan, AL for the Gap. It was a great time and we met some really cool people. We also scored some sweet free jeans. We played about an hour and half set and everyone had a really great time it seemed. We’ll be posting some pictures later this weekend from the show, but for now enjoy this video of Well Enough Alone. It’s a different take on the tune, but we think you’ll enjoy it. Our apologies to Casey our bass player for being out of the camera frame. We are vowing to release a 4 minute video of Casey playing Bass to equal out the face time.
